I’m at the Evangelical Ministers Assembly this week which means a train journey to London Victoria. Today I gave myself a little extra time to hand out some Good News for London gospels outside the Station.
I’m not a regular commuter to London but because the place was so busy it was easy to hand out the gospels. I simply tried to look people in the eye and said as politely and winsomely as possible: “Sir/Madame – Good News for London!” They were soon taken.
A few great things about the initiative are:
1. The gospels look good and, so its hard to immediately throw them away
2. They are very cheap to purchase in bulk – so you can sow generously
3. There is a QR code connecting interested folk to a local London church.
There was already a Red Bull giveaway going on outside the Station promoting a new summer drink. The packaging tells me that it “vitalizes body and mind.” Well that just about sums up what the world can offer – a short term solution for mind and body which ignores the soul.
Jesus however once stood up in a crowd and cried out:
‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me, and drink. The one who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.’ He said this about the Spirit. (John 7:37-39)
So as I stood near the Red Bull guys giving out the gospels I felt here was the missing piece of the jigsaw.
Red Bull claims it can vitalize your body and mind, Jesus will heal your soul 🙂
The drink tasted good – peachy and very very sweet. But Jesus tastes so much better and offers streams of living water.
Check out Good News for London, even if like me you are an occasional visitor to London
