So it turns out that Saturday, our first day of the Love Brighton outreach, was also Trans Pride Day here in Brighton. Here’s how we got on.
After prayer and training on first contact evangelism the team of about 40 spent the afternoon around the New Road area of Brighton. It was packed with a huge variety of people including many celebrating Trans Pride Day.

Julian, Oli and I took turns preaching about Jesus who forgives and changes lives today and a couple of young people publicly shared their testimonies. One man heckled, a young woman quietly listened and another young man engaged the preacher with questions in a public dialogue. Lots of gospels and leaflets were handed out to people from all kinds of backgrounds and many conversations were had.

So what seemed initially like an intimidating afternoon developed into a time of gospel opportunity and a good start to the week. Please pray for courage and compassion for us all and for an open door for the message about Christ. Every team member has received a challenge to give a 2 minute public testimony before Love Brighton ends on Friday!
