City Centre parking can be very expensive. But thankfully we have a car park close to our Grace Church Brighton meeting place and they give us a good deal on Sundays. We pray for the kind people who supervise the space, and hope that our parking and interactions adorn the teachings of our God and Saviour in everything we do there.

I had to park there yesterday and as I rushed off to my meeting I noted that there was a new face supervising that day. But my mind was on the meeting – an encouraging time learning about the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the upcoming God Loves You Tour in June 2025. However when I go back to the car park I was blown away by the connection the Holy Spirit had arranged between that meeting and the man who was supervising.

As we got chatting I shared what I had just been doing – talking to a man from something called the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

I wasn’t prepared for his response!

‘Oh my Dad knew Billy Graham … and Big Daddy.’ [If you know, you know 😂]

It turns out his (Foster) Dad had been a church minister in Lancashire. And that wasn’t the only connection. When he shared a clip from his Dad’s funeral service, I realised that I knew of the church and its current Pastor.

He couldn’t quite believe it and neither could I.

He talked. I listened. Then I was able to share about the real Jesus he had walked away from as a teenager and then retold Jesus’ story of the Lost Sheep (Luke 15:3-7).

I expect his parents, family and that church have been praying for him for years. And here we are in a car park … meeting over Billy Graham.

Please pray for him. I’ve invited him to Grace Church and aim to see him again soon. In fact most of the church will see him on Sunday!
