We’ve been strongly emphasising the need for our new church to be a church that sees itself on mission here in Brighton. We finish each Sunday gathering by saying Matthew 28:18-20 together.
But how do we do that in our ordinary, everyday lives?
A good place to begin is with these 5 practices. They are used by other churches, you can see them in the life of Jesus and the early church. But although we know we need to do the last one, we forget to take time to do the first 4.
- B – Begin with prayer
- L – Listen to God in his Word the Bible, be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and listen to people by asking good questions
- E – Eat. Make time for people through food or other shared activities
- S – Serve people. God has prepared good works for us all to do.
- S – Share. Share your story of God’s grace in your life. And most importantly share the gospel which is God’s power for salvation.
We’re spending time on these in the coming weeks. Its just the beginning. Our heart is to go and make disciples in the city.
