After warning Noah about the judgement to come, the LORD instructed Noah to build an ark.

And Noah did this. He did everything that God had commanded him (v22)

But what was God doing while the ark was being prepared?

God patiently waited (1 Peter 3:20)

He is doing the same today.

Dear friends, don’t overlook this one fact: With the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord does not delay his promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:8,9)

In Jesus, the ark is already built. The LORD patiently waits.

So it’s not surprising that the fruit of the Spirit in the life of the church includes patience.
